The family court asked Urvashi to hand over her daughter to her actor father, Manoj K. Jayan, but permitted her to keep her child during Sundays, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

“It is unfortunate that even after repeated discussions both parties have refused to reach an amicable settlement,” the court observed.

Family court Judge N. Leelamani passed the order after considering Manoj K. Jayan’s appeal. The family court had earlier granted Urvashi permission to keep her daughter with her during the vacations.

The earlier verdict was passed ex-parte with Manoj K. Jayan failing to appear before the court. The court made it clear that there is no need to shift the kid from the school where she is studying now.

Following the order, Manoj K. Jayan approached the family court and field a petition seeking to have the order set aside. The court will consider his petition on Monday.

The star couple divorced in 2008. However, immediately after the verdict, Urvashi moved the court seeking custody of the child. At the time of divorce, Manoj K. Jayan was given custody of his young daughter.

Meanwhile, he filed an impleading petition seeking a directive to initiate action against Urvashi for holding a press meet after she got a favourable order on May 30.

After the hearing, Manoj K. Jayan said: “God is with me, I am so happy”. Urvashi refused to comment.
